UltraLite Kiln
We're very excited to be able to introduce the UltraLite kiln to the UK. This kiln is sometimes called a trinket kiln, or a beehive kiln. It is tiny little kiln, you really can't get much more portable than this! The Ultralite Kiln was originally developed for granulation on silver and gold, and enamelling. But with a clever little ceramic insert you can also fire metal clay in it.
It is a super-small kiln, with no controller, you just turn it on, and once warm it will hold a constant temperature, perfect for Art Clay and PMC.
With the brass covers (see below), which were developed by Celie Fago, it is definitely the best option available for Keum-Boo - a korean technique for fusing gold foil to silver using heat and pressure (sometimes called Kum-Bo, Keumbu, or Kumboo). The UltraLite and the covers gives you a constant temperature and a comfortable working environment. With the domed form brass cover you have great support for domed, hollow, and lentil forms.
For granulation you use the kiln as it comes. For enamelling and firing metal clay you need one 3" ceramic inserts (sold separately). And for Keum-Boo you'll need the brass covers (sold separately). You can use one of the ceramic inserts to dry metal clay pieces, just pop one on top of your kiln lid.
The kiln comes with a standard 15" cord, a UK plug, is wired for 230V and uses standard UK household current. Included in the kiln price is the kiln body, a lid, and a metal spatula to remove hot items from the kiln. It runs at 250W - this is extremely low, so will cost a lot less than, say, a cooking ring, which is often used for Keum-Boo.
The ceramic-fibre body measures 127mm x 65mm externally, and is fixed to a 62mm high metal stand. The ceramic-fibre firing chamber measures 76mm x 38mm internally, and heats from the bottom, with the fast-firing coils safely embedded in the element. Putting the lid off-centre will effectively vent the kiln and reduce the temperature. The kiln doesn't get hot enough for the Art Clay gold clay - but it is perfect for the Art Clay Gold Paste, Accent Gold for Silver and Aura 22.

Three ceramic inserts for firing metal clay with the UltraLite Kiln
A set of three 3" ceramic inserts. Use these with the UltraLite when firing metal clay. They're also needed when fusing glass - if you have an accident where the glass spills over the edge of your shelf paper, you will not ruin your heating element.
For firing metal clay you need a 3" ceramic insert.Comes in a set of three, so you can use one of the inserts in the kiln for firing, one on top of the lid for drying metal clay pieces, and one spare in case you have a breakage.

Brass Cover for Keum-Boo on the UltraLite Kiln
These two brass covers were developed by Celie Fago, to use for Keum-Boo. I was lucky enough to take a class with Celie, who strongly recommended this firing option. Having tried several different firing options for Keum-Boo; torch firing, larger kilns, and cooking rings, I feel the same, the UltraLite kiln with the brass inserts is fabulous for Keum-Boo.
The set consists of two covers, one flat and one with a shallow domed indentation in the middle of the cover. The flat cover is used for, well, flat pieces, and the domed cover is for hollow beads, lentil beads, and shapes with a curve, like rings for instance. The indentation cradles the piece, making it easier for you to burnish onto it.
The UltraLite keeps a consistent temperature and gives you a comfortable working environment. Cooking rings gives off a lot of uneccesary heat around the entire ring, making it very uncomfortable after a while. Cooking rings also have a safety feature which switches the heating on and off, which can sometimes cause problems as you don't get a constant and even temperature. Set of 2 brass covers.

SilverClay MiniKiln
The SilverClay MiniKiln (Prometheus Pro-1) is perfect for low-budget small-scale work, and is ideal for Art Clay and PMC, enamelling and china painting. It can also be used for glass fusing, like dichroic glass cabochons and similar small items. It's a 1000°C front-loading kiln, with a built-in, easy-to-use, 4-key digital controller.
The UK kiln is rated at 230V 700W, so plugs into a regular mains socket. It's small enough to use in your home, school, craft workshop, or jewellery studio. And it is ideal to take with you for craft evenings and workshops as it only weighs about 6kg, and is small enough to carry.
The outer steel case measures 224mm x 244mm x 274mm, and is slotted for air circulation, so it keeps cool. The door opens 90°, and there's a door vent for any processes that may release fumes.
The ceramic firing chamber, enclosed in an inner steel case, measures 113mm x 135mm x 66mm internally, and heats from the three sides, with the fast-firing elements safely embedded in the ceramic.
The included furniture kit consists of one ceramic fibre shelf, and a soft ceramic fibre cloth used to prop pieces during firing.

Paragon SC2 silver clay and glass kiln
The SC2 is ideal for working with precious metal clays, decals, china paint, enamelling, glass fusing and slumping, up to 1180°C, about 2000°F. You don’t need any special wiring or electrical installation to be done, just plug it into a socket and you are ready to go!
The ceramic fibre firing chamber measures 199mm x 204mm x 145mm, and is heated from the sides and the back. The door has a 180° hinge.
The easy to use three-key digital controller allows you to set four programmes, each consisting of up to eight segments. Or you can just choose to heat up at a certain speed and set the target temperature and hold time, which is called a "single segment firing".
The kiln comes with a soft ceramic fibre shelf, suitable for enamels and metal clay. If you work with glass, or would just like to add a shelf to give you more space, please order the kiln with a shelf kit. You'll then also get one 178mm x 178mm x 15mm cordierite shelf and four 25mm x 25mm x 12mm (high) posts.
The SC2 now comes with different doors, so you can choose what suits you;
1 - the solid door which is the standard option for all SC kilns
2 - with a window
3 - with a window and a bead door
If you work with a torch and make glass beads, have a look at the bead door which allows you to anneal on the mandrels as you are working. And the window option is great for glass fusing beginners, or enamellers, where you like to be able to take a peep whilst firing.
The bead door is used for annealing lampworked glass beads on mandrels. Same specifications as SC2 (see above), but the door has a 165mm x 64mm bead-anealing flip-up slot on the front, and a steel mandrel rest.
The window is 50 x 50 mm, made from a heat resistant glass. Please note that this might cloud slightly over time.
And you can also get a combination of a window and bead door. This option comes with the bead-anealing letter-box style door, 165mm x 64mm, a bead-mandrel holder, and a heat-resistant glass viewing-window, 75mm x 25mm.
Simply choose your options from the drop down list below.
"I absolutely love my kiln and tumbler, they are both fantastic and I couldn't recommend the kiln highly enough, so simple to use... my mum said it is more straighforward than her microwave!!!" C.P.

Paragon shelf kit
Kiln shelf and four posts, perfect for SC2 and SC3.
One 178mm x 178mm x 15mm cordierite shelf and four 25mm x 25mm x 25mm posts. This shelf should be used if you want to fire glass in your kiln, or just want to stack several shelves to save space. Cordierite is a magnesium aluminium silicate that resists thermal distortion and fracture. Depending on the sizes of your pieces, the number of pieces you want to fire, and the size of the kiln, several shelves can be stacked to make better use of your time, so you may want more than one furniture kit.

Paragon FireFly
The brand new Paragon FireFly is excellent for beginners. It is ideal for small-scale work: Art Clay, PMC, Accent Gold, Metal Clay Veneer, china painting, dichroics, enamels, jewellery, glass fusing, sagging, slumping, ceramics, porcelain, pottery, and stoneware. It's a 1290°C cone 10, four-sided, square, top-opening kiln, with an easy-to-use digital pyrometer. it's compact and easy to move, it uses a regular mains socket, it heats and cools quickly, and it's inexpensive to run
The UK kiln is rated at 230V/1680W, so can use a regular mains socket. To comply with EU safety regulations, it's fitted with an additional switch that cuts off the power when the hinged lid is opened. The hinge includes a stop which holds the lid open until you close it. The kiln is small enough to use in your home, school, jewellery workshop, or ceramics studio. As it only weighs about 20Kg you can still take it with you to workshops or when teaching.
The Paragon FireFly is made of durable 64mm thick insulating firebrick, which stores heat for slow cooling and safe annealing of smaller glass projects. The replaceable heating elements are recessed in grooves, for longer life. Wires are fastened to the elements with heat-dissipating connectors refined and proven over many years in Paragon kilns. Rugged construction makes this kiln a little workhorse.
The FireFly doesn't have a programmer. However, the controller allows you to adjust the heating and cooling rate. And the digital hand-held pyrometer, included in the price, shows you the accurate temperature inside the kiln, up to 1090°C (If you fire hotter than 1090°C, you will need a pyrometer that reads higher temperatures). The liquid crystal display is easy to read even in bright daylight. Replace the Type-K thermocouple in seconds with a simple plug-in connection. The pyrometer can be swapped quickly with the thermocouple.
A built-in 3" tall steel base with mar-proof rubber feet covers the entire firebrick bottom. You can place the kiln directly onto a heat-resistant work surface.
The FireFly comes with a furniture kit, which consists of one 178mm x 178mm x 15mm cordierite shelf, four 25mm x 25mm x 12mm posts, and a bag of glass separator.
Cordierite is a magnesium aluminium silicate that resists thermal distortion and fracture. A thick shelf, on posts, heats and cools evenly: partuicularly important for glass work.
Depending on the sizes of your pieces and the number of pieces you want to fire, three shelves can be stacked to make better use of your time: so you may want more than one furniture kit. An extra kit consists of one 178mm x 178mm x 15mm cordierite shelf and four 25mm x 25mm x 25mm posts (higher than the posts included with the kiln).
Outer size: 470mm x 381mm x 305mm, including the controller housing, the steel base, and other hardware. Firing chamber: 203mm x 203mm x 114mm.
The Fire Fly is a very versatile kiln. It heats up to a high temperature, making it suitable for ceramics, porcelain, pottery, and stoneware. It is also suitable for bulk annealing of torch made glass beads, small-scale fusing, and is excellent for silver clay. It's also good for enamel, though a front loading kiln is better for this. For Art Clay, PMC, dichroics, enamelling, glass fusing, and jewellery, front-loading ceramic-fibre kilns, such as the those in the SC series, are more popular.
