This page details our order, delivery, cancellation and return policy.
Shopping with SilverClay is very easy. The fastest and simplest way to place an order is to do it online, you can also post, email or calll in your order.
Our ordering information and terms and conditions
SilverClay is the trading name of Petra Lyon Ltd. Petra Lyon Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales.
PLEASE NOTE - YOUR CARD IS NOT CHARGED UNTIL YOUR ORDER IS PACKED AND READY FOR DESPATCH. We don't charge your card at the time you place the order. This is only done when your order has been packed and is ready to send. Orders paid for with cheque, bank transfer, or money order, will be sent when the payment is in our account.
We also accept money order, UK cheque, cash and, for a small fee, PayPal.
All our prices are in UK sterling pounds. All prices include VAT, books are zero-rated.
- Secure website ordering
To order, click the 'Add to basket' button next to the item. When you do this, you'll be taken to the shopping basket page which shows the items ordered and prices. You can check what is in your shopping basket at any time by choosing 'review basket' link at the top of any shop page.
To remove an item, go to 'review basket', change the quantity to zero and press the 'recalculate' button at the bottom of the page.
To buy more or less of an item, change the quantity to what you like and press the 'recalculate' button at the bottom of the page.
When you are on viewing your shopping basket, you can choose to continue shopping or go to the secure payments pages. When you have finished your order, press the 'go to payments' button on the shopping basket page. Your card details are taken on a SSL secure page. You can confirm that the page is secure by making sure there is a little padlock symbol at the bottom of your browser window. Also, if you look at the URL of the page, it will start with "https://"
After you have placed your order, you will receive an automated confirmation by email almost immediately - this confirms that our system has received your order. Please check this and make sure all the details are correct, including your delivery address. If anything needs changing, please get in touch straight away. Keep a copy for your records.
Please note that this is not a confirmation of your space if you're signing up for a course. You'll receive a confirmation in the post. We try to keep the web site updated, but sometimes courses get fully booked very quickly and we might not able to change the site immediately.
- Ordering by phone, fax or post
You can also call us with your order. We're usually available 10am-5pm Monday to Friday, unless we're teaching or working in the studio, in which case the answer machine will be on. Leave a message with your name and number and someone will call you back as soon as we can.
If you want to fax your order, please print out a order form here, fill it in and fax to 0870 836 2454.
To order by post, please fill in a order form which you can print here. You can pay by UK cheque, postal order, bank transfer, and credit or debit card. Make cheques to 'SilverClay'. Send the order to the address on the order form (also on the bottom of this page).
Delivery is FREE on all orders over £20 within the UK Mainland. Orders under £20 are charged £2.00 for packing and shipping. Adresses outside UK Mainland may be subject to a delivery charge, we would contact you to let you know if this is the case.
Most of the orders are sent by Royal Mail. Heavy items are sent with CityLink courier. Courier deliveries, and Royal Mail Recorded, or Signed For, require a signature on delivery.
As long as everything is in stock, your order is guaranteed to be despatched within 7 working days of ordering, but almost all orders are actually sent the same day, or the day after ordering. If your order is urgent or you need a specific delivery date, please call us and we'll do our best to help.
We will try to deliver the goods to you within the time estimated for delivery. If we are unable to do so, we reserve the right to deliver them within 30 days beginning with the day after the day of the agreement between us. If we are unable to deliver the goods to you within 30 days beginning with the day after the day of the agreement:
1. we shall inform you by e-mail ;
2. we shall make a further offer to you by e-mail to sell you the goods of the specification and description at the price stated in the e-mail and will state the period for which the offer or the price remains valid ;
3. unless you accept the offer we will reimburse any sum paid by you or on your behalf under or in relation to the agreement within a period of 30 days beginning with the day after the day on which the time for delivery expired.
If anything you've ordered is out of stock we'll let you know.
PLEASE NOTE - If an incorrect or incomplete delivery address is given at the time of order, resulting in failed delivery, redelivery can be arranged (subject to a redelivery cost) or a refund can be issued less delivery costs already paid by SilverClay, and you may be subject to a 5% re-stocking charge. CHECK THE DETAILS YOU GIVE US CAREFULLY.
- Returns and Cancellations
In accordance with UK law, consumers have a 7 day 'cooling off period' from the day they receive the goods, in which they have the right to cancel their purchase and receive a full refund. Consumers do not need to give a reason for cancelling their purchase. We are obliged to refund payments to consumers in full within 30 days of the order being cancelled. If you wish to cancel, please get in touch by email or phone. We can only refund or exchange goods which are unused and unopened.
Should you cancel your purchase within this 7 day 'cooling off' period, we will refund your payment in full. If you paid by credit or debit card from this website, your refund will be made directly to your credit or debit card within 30 days of your cancellation. If you paid by any other means, your refund will be made by cheque which will be posted to you within 30 days of your cancellation. There will be no charges for cancellation within this 7 day cooling off period.
You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods.
NOTE: We can't accept liability for goods lost or damaged during transit. Please ensure you pack any items carefully and protected so they don't get damaged in the post. You are also advised to return goods by recorded delivery, registered post, or by courier, as we will not be responsible for lost parcels. Proof of postage will not be accepted as proof of delivery. Please remember to give us your name and address, and a copy of your purchase receipt.
Our return and refund policy is in accordance with the EU Distance Selling Directive which came into force in October 2000 and is part of UK law under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000. This law applies to all business to consumer transactions within the UK where a consumer does not meet the vendor. Contracts between businesses are not governed by these regulations.
Our terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
- Cancellation Policy
If for reasons beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to an inability or failure on the part of the manufacturers or suppliers of the goods to supply the goods to us, we are unable to supply the goods to you, we may cancel the agreement at any time before the goods are delivered by giving notice to you. We shall promptly repay to you any sums paid by you or on your behalf under or in relation the agreement. We shall not be liable for any other loss or damage whatever arising from such cancellation.
SilverClay respect your privacy. None of the information we collect is passed on to any other parties, except when required as part of the business services we provide for you, or as required under UK law. If you order from us, we may use your email address to contact you about special offers, as per UK law, but you may unsubscribe from these emails and we will not contact you again. We never share your email with other companies.
SilverClay will only collect details about you when you place an order. These will include your name and address, your email address, and various other details necessary to complete a transaction and fulfill your order. We do not collect any information which may be deemed "sensitive personal data" under the Data Protection Act 1998.
The provider is not liable for any use of the web site or reliance on the content, except where the site owner is negligent. The provider is not liable if the web site is unavailable for any reason.
